VISTA Acronym Challenge: can you beat Visually Impressive Shame Technologically Appalling?

Vista busy cursor Imagine that VISTA, as in Microsoft’s Windows Vista, were an acronym. What might it stand for?

There’s one suggestion in the title of this post:

Visually Impressive, Shame Technologically Appalling

Here’s another:

Virtually Imperceptible Step Towards Advancement

Anyone out there have any ideas? I’m afraid I can’t offer any prizes. It’s just for the kudos. If I get enough contributions I’ll try to organise a vote.

  2. Vigelently Irritating Software That Angers

    I am not a fan of Michael Moore’s but I would like to see him stalk Balmer, Gates and whomever else is responsible for this endevor of software terrorism.

    I’m a self employed person who has operated my finances out of my laptop for over a decade upgrading from Win95 to Win98 to XP generally purchasing a new Vaio every year or two due to my need for increasing disk capacity.

    Up to the devolution of the Vista platform, all of the productive software which I aquired over the years has always backward compatibe with the new platforms — up to Vista.

    That shows when there is a will, campatiblity is doable.

    What Microsoft did with Vista should be illegal just as the airlines making people sitting on a delayed flight for 16 hours should be illegal.

    Getting “Vistacated” is like buying a new car and as you drive off the lot the salesman says, “Oh, by the way, you’re going to have to buy a new engine, new transmission, new seats and new tires in six hours if you’re going to want to GO ANYWHERE.
